Audabiac

Audabiac

() Director: Miroslav Janek, ČR, 2005, Czech version, 57 min

Audabiac is an ancient stone fortress in the south of France, which was recently reconstructed and is the summer place of kids from Czech children’s homes. Different artists come and visit them there, creating a place which activates children’s fantasy and enriches their emotional life. The children participating in this project do not suffer any physical or mental handicap. Their handicap is that they do not have parents, meaning that they do not know them. The author of this film is interested in the psyche of people who grow up without the certainty of domesticity. The film therefore becomes a form of meditation on the topic of home and the search for identity. It is a free continuation to Janek’s earlier films with handicapped children Unseen and Hamsa, I am.
