A premiere screening of Urbanized

On Saturday, May 26, Světozor will host a ceremonial premiere of a unique documentary about the design of cities Urbanized by Gary Hustwit. The screening will start at 7pm, and it takes place within the reSITE festival taking place next week, during which the world's leading voices in the field of sustainable urban design, urban planning and architecture will be in Prague to discuss the question: Can collaborative design improve waterfront public spaces and mobility, and catalyze economic development? The reSITE Festival and Conference invites city planners, engineers, economists and architects from New York, Copenhagen, Rotterdam and Paris to debate this central question. After the screening, a discussion with top architects and city designers will take place: Alexandros E. Washburn (NYC), Craig Dykers (Oslo/NYC), Matúš Vallo (Bratislava), David Chisholm (Prague) and Adam Gebrian (Praha). Both the film and the post-screening discussion will be English Friendly! Garbage Warrior at Aerovod.cz

Another title that can be viewed online on the video-on-demand rental services through AEROVOD is the documentary Garbage Warrior. Now you can watch some of the films featured in Světozor online and do it legally! In the near future, AEROVOD will offer a wider selection of films. Documentary Mondays: Bakhmaro

The Documentary Mondays cycle will feature the documentary Bakhmaro Monday, May 14th. The film’s title draws attention to a spot that has become a tourist paradise in the mountains of Georgia. But documentarian Salome Jashi takes her camera to places that are the exact opposite of Bakhmaro. Despite the wishes of locals, a faded brick building by a motorway that sees only a handful of cars daily doesn’t make it into tourist guides. Even the town’s ornate restaurant, with its vivid green and orange walls, fails to attract customers. The restaurant is a microcosm of Georgia, reflecting the country’s political stasis. (více…)

 

Tomorrow Will Be Better - the premiere

On Thursday, May 10, Světozor will host the ceremonial premiere of a documentary by Martin Přívratský, Tomorrow Will Be Better. The film details the journey of Czech freestyle motocross driver Libor Podmol, from buying his first professional bike to winning the World Champions title in the sport.
