Of Mice and Men in Světozor
Due to high interest in kino Aero where this show is sold out, we have added a screening of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men from the NT Live series to Světozor. The critically-acclaimed Broadway revival of John Steinbeck’s classic directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, starring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O’Dowd, Leighton Meester and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton was filmed at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre. Světozor will screen the show on Tuesday, April 7. Tickets per 300 CZK are already available. Reservations need to be picked by the end of February at the latest. (více…)

From November 30 to December 12, Aero and Světozor cinemas are hosting the second annual Asian film festival Filmasia. This year, the festival points its focus predominantly on the dynamic Taiwanese cinematography. The word "dynamic" is justified by the fact that over 20 years, Taiwanese cinematography has been among the world's most interesting. After the end of World War II and the civil was in China, the small island was sought by Chinese refugees and became a dictatorship which lasted until the end of the 70-ies. The development of Taiwan was also influenced by the U.S. military presence on the island. After the lifting of the censorship legislation, cinematography became one of the key art forms in the country. Catalogue to download here

The 2nd Prague Short Film Festival introduces 73 short films from all over the world in ten program categories. Three international competition blocks presenting an array of films shot since January 2005 will be completed by blocks of the best short films from Mexico, United Kingdom, and the German festival intefilm Berlin followed by films awarded at international festivals, first shorts of famous directors and experimental films.
