Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars

The Refugee All Stars are a multi-generational group of musicians from Sierra Leone, living in squalor as refugees in neighboring Guinea as a result of the horrifying decade-long civil war in their native country. Having lost most of their families to the violence, they are beset by emotional problems and in some cases physically crippled. But they have found redemption through the healing power of music. Seeking to give a voice to the experiences of their fellow refugees, they overcome tremendous hardship to eventually fulfill their dream and record their first studio album. Filmed over three years in close proximity to the main characters, this powerful documentary presents a unique and inspiring story of survival and humanity.
