Tideland

Terry Gilliam’s new feature film is reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, only it’s a bit more up to date. It’s a story about a little girl whose parents are drug addicts. When her mother dies of overdose, she and her father set out to Texas. And that’s when the strange tings start happening. Similarly to Alice in Wonderland, Tideland is also based primarily on the fantasy of its heroine. Terry Gilliam (director and screenwriter) in cooperation with Jeff Bridges (plays the father) have already amazed the cinema-goers by their extremely successful film The Fisher King (1991).
