Brazil

Brazil is a parable of the near future which deals with the idea of individual versus system. Gilliam placed his grotesque story of an emerging love between Sam and Jill into a vaguely defined period around Christmas “sometime in the 20th century”, when armies of nameless clerks strictly adhere to office ethics similar to those of the 1930´s. Everything and everyone is constantly accompanied by fanciful machines of modern times.
