Indian and the Nurse (engl. subt.)
(Indián a sestřička) Director: Dan Wlodarczyk, ČR, 2005, Czech version, 100 min
A sleepy village in Southern Bohemia sets the scene for the meeting of two young people coming from different social and cultural backgrounds. František is a so-called white Indian, he is a member of a community which tries to imitate the life style of Native Americans. Marie is an assimilated Romany. They fall in love on the night of the burning of the witches, which was a traditional pagan ritual. Maria’s parents strongly oppose their relationship as they have a radically different idea about their daughter’s future husband.
