The same actors play different characters and personalities in the separate stories. The Knife Grinder: Grinder František and burly Jakub compete for the affections of the good-looking vagrant Josefina. Josefina is prepared to go with whoever proves stronger… All's Well That Ends Well: Professor Viktor, recently married to the young Blažena, sees that the student Josef is dating the beautiful Elis. One day he hears the student call out his wife's name… Good Cheer: The hot-blooded innkeeper Isabella presides over The Good Cheer Inn. One day a young Gypsy Cyprian enters the inn, followed by Kabrhel, the butcher, with his boar. Both men are taken with Isabella, but Cyprian manages to lure Kabrhel away...
