(Transparency ve Světozoru) Director: George Hickenlooper, CDN, 2010, English version / Czech subtitles, 108 min
Transparency International, an anticorruption NGO, invites you to the Kino Světozor for a charity screening and Czech premiere of the movie Casino Jack on October 16th at 7:00 pm. Look forward to the charismatic Kevin Spacey (House of Cards, K-PAX, American Beauty) who in this flick plays Jack Abramoff, a real-life Washington lobbyist and businessman. With his buddy and protégé Barry Pepper (Seven Pounds, We Were Soldiers, The Green Mile) he vigorously pursues his goals and together they drive the unstoppable spiral of corruption, tax fraud and plotting even into the highest ranks of U.S. politics. Kevin Spacey received a Golden Globe nomination for his role of the attractive and unscrupulous lobbyist. This film was also the last work of director George Hickenlooper (Factory Girl, The Man from Elysian Fields).
Lobbying is a popular and controversial topic not only in the United States, but also in the Czech Republic. Therefore we would like to invite you to a panel discussion with David Ondráčka (director of Transparency International Czech Republic) and other guests directly following the movie. You may also look forward to small refreshments at the bar of the Kino Světozor.
The ticket price for this charity event is 150,- CZK. You may also buy a donor’s ticket for 350,- CZK which is including a t-shirt by Transparency International.
The funds raised with this event will benefit the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre of Transparency International, which provides citizens, which have encountered corrupt practices, with legal counsel free of charge.
