Made in Dagenham

“Made in Dagenham“ is a refreshing British retro comedy which tells the story of 187 female factory workers in Dagenham. In 1968 they rebel against their working conditions, demanding equal pay and an end to discrimination against women. The director, Nigel Cole ("Saving Grace", "Calendar Girls"), manages to capture the funny side of events without belittling the seriousness of the conflict with cheap humour. The film belongs in the same category as such classic British social comedies as "The Full Monty" or "East is East".
