Bose: The Forgotten Hero
(Bose: The Forgotten Hero ) Director: Shyam Benegal, IND, 2005, English version, 208 min
Shyam Benegal’s film recounts the story of Subhas Chandra Bose, an Indian revolutionary. Born into a prominent Bengali family, Bose dedicated much of his younger years to India’s quest for independence from the British. He worked alongside Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohandas Gandhi, but expressed his frustration, with Gandhi's slow and painstaking non violent ways. His revolutionary zeal took Bose in a very different, and often overlooked, direction.
