Vikram, a young aspiring actor (Farhan Akhtar), arrives in Mumbai with dreams of becoming a star. Following the same dream, Sona (Konkona Sen Sharma) lives in the city too. Wide–eyed and ambitious, she is determined to make it in the industry. She lives on her own and spends her time with a motley crew of loyal friends involved in Bollywood. Inevitably, Vikram and Sona roads cross and sparks fly. Will their love survive their desire for stardom? What sacrifices will they have to make?
