Silver Rocket Summer Swinger

Put on a music festival? Any idot can do that. The indie record label Silver Rocket has put on a ‚meeting‘ (they don’t like the word festival) featuring its bands for over 5 years now. Every year it has a different name, evey year in a different place, every year at a different time, every year different bands. In 2007 it took the form of a travelling circus of sorts: Any fan was offered the opportunity to be the promoter, the label ‚just‘ provided the bands and a bit of publicity. Five brave ‚promoters‘ emerged fairly quickly, and the bands Wollongong, Lyssa, OTK, Gnu a Phoneix 2 hit the road for Hradec Králové, Český Těšín, Dub nad Moravou, Nové Město pod Smrkem a the castle Točník near Beroun, Criss-crossing the country in a big yellow bus with SRSS (Silver Rocket Summer Swinger) painted on the side, fans joined them at different points on the journey. Sound mad? Of course, you would prefer a safe ‚festival‘ like Lollapolooza, wouldn‘t you?
