Año xxx. en la metrópolis llena de nieve reina el Sr. TV. Toda la ciudad ha enmudecido. El Sr. TV es el único que tiene el monopolio de la voz e imagen. Toda la gente mira la televisión y se alimentan con ella. El Sr. TV prepara un plan horrible: Con una máquina hipnótica quiere gobernar el mundo entero a través de la televisión. Una película muda de espectacular calidad. La Antena inspirada por las películas de Murnau, Lang, Ejzenstein y Vertov es sin embargo una película muy moderna, una alegoría interesante que combina bien los decorados siniestros, el repensado uso de subtítulos y el arte dramático.

In a wintry metropolis in the year xxx, the merciless Mr. TV rules with an iron rod. The whole city is muted and he alone has monopolised both word and image. People watch TV and eat Mr. TV’s TV dinners. He is working on a sinister plan to use a dangerous hypnotic machine that operates through the TV to ensure that he has control over all lives forever. To achieve this, he kidnaps the only one who still has The Voice - a beautiful singer. A compelling example of the vitality and formal potential of silent film. Inspired by the work of Murnau, Lang, Eisenstein and Vertov, La antena is nevertheless a very modern film. The fairytale allegory continues to surprise the audience from one scene to the next, with sweeping, well-designed sets, wonderful use of words and, last but not least, fine performances from the cast.
