Burnt By The Sun

The story takes place during a summer day in 1936. It holds the unity of time and place and therefore makes a very dense impression. A hero of the revolution Colonel Kotov is enjoying his well deserved holiday with his family. Interventions of the outside world disturb the idyll only sporadically, but they are always very serious. Be it the tanks or the KGB agent. A high quality film won an Oscar for the best foreign film of 1994 and the Grand Jury Award (ex aequo) in IFF Cannes 1994.
