The Yakiniku Movie: Bulgogi

Bulgogi and yakiniku are both names for barbecued beef; bulgogi, however, is a Korean recipe while yakiniku is a Japanese one. With respect to the etymological roots, this over-the-top comedy treats the issue of diasporic Korean culture in Japan as a mouth-watering bulgogi vs. yakiniku battle between two estranged brothers of Korean descent. The style of the film combines the sentiment of TV melodramas with the passion and hysteria of Japanese cooking shows.
