Gardens in Autumn

A French government minister named Vincent resigns from his official duties to experience a loose life of drink, women and good times in this satirical comedy from writer/director Otar Losseliani. His provincial mother watching bemused from the sidelines as her once-respectable son experiences the heretofore unexplored pleasures and pitfalls of the everyman, Vincent soon finds himself mixed up in a curious carnival of guns, exotic wild animals, and, of course, the Luxembourg Gardens.

Vincent est ministre, homme puissant, plutôt élégant, bon vivant. Odile, sa maîtresse, est intelligente, lucide, charmante. Mais lier son destin a de trop belles filles peut coûter cher : dès que Vincent est chassé de son poste, elle le plaque. Théodière, le nouveau ministre, investit le somptueux bureau de Vincent. Il casse tout : il change les étagères, le tissu d'ameublement, le bureau, les fauteuils, jusqu'aux cendriers et aux téléphones. De son côté, l'ex-ministre Vincent commence à vivre...
