Fårö 1979 / Fårö Document 1979

Following the first document about Fårö, this film depicts one year in the life of this tiny island. In the document from 1970 Bergman interviews children on the school bus who mostly express their wish to leave the island. Nevertheless, in the second document it turns out that many of them have settled down here and feel happy about it. The document shows the environmental threats, the islanders‘ struggle with the red tape but it also depicts their everyday life and recurrent events in the year’s cycle.
