Blind Loves

What is it like when sightless people fall in love? Is it in fact any different from all the “other loves”? Documentary film-maker Juraj Lehotský asks this and many other questions in his film. Without unnecessary pathos he follows several sightless people, who either long for love or live it, skillfully portraying human affection without falling into cheap sentimentality. The pure “view” of the sightless on love is not only surprising but often full of wit. Also, after a long period Blind Loves was the first film not only representing Slovakia but also gaining awards at the Cannes film festival.
