He has been passionate about animated film since childhood – at 12 he corresponded with Norman McLaren. After leaving school, he moved to Paris and started making animated short films. His meeting with Michel Gondry was not only the start of a great friendship, but also collaboration that produced exceptional music videos, commercials and The Science of Sleep (2006). J.-L.
