The Painted Veil

Kitty (Naomi Watts) is forced to marry a serious and a little bit dry doctor Walter (Edward Norton) and shortly they leave for Shanghai. Living with a man who is devoted to his mission in a poor country is not really interesting for her so she soon finds a lover. Unveiling this secret, however, is not the main dramatic plot of the film. Walter decides to accept a job in a remote village, where the couple moves. Only there it is that they may learn to understand, love and forgive each other...
