Pan's Labyrinth

The year is 1944. In fascist Spain, twelve-year-old Ofelia and her mother go to live with her step-father, a ruthless, sadistic officer in Franco’s army. The life in a military camp has more to offer Ofelia than just the reality full of fighting the rebels. During the night, she meets a fairy who takes her to an old faun in the center of nearby ancient labyrinth. This ancient satyr tells her, that she is in fact a princess of a once mighty fairytale kingdom and also the only one who can save the kingdom, by surviving three gruesome tasks. If she fails, she will never prove herself to be the princess and will never see her true father, the king, again.
