The Queen

While the public all around the world is shocked by the sudden death of Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II. retreats behind the walls of the summer royal residence, trying to understand the hysteria of the British public. As the emotions gain on strength, the newly elected Prime Minister Tony Blair realises that he will have to recreate the bond between the Queen and the British people. This new film by Stephen Frears (Mrs Henderson Presents, Dirty Pretty Things) is a close observation of the real life of the royal family, the emotions surrounding the tragic event and its consequences.
