The Graduate
(The Graduate) Director: Mike Nichols, USA, 1967, English version / Czech subtitles, 79 min
A famous film shot as a testimony of the maturing generation of the late sixties was nominated in seven categories for an Oscar in 1967 of which it won "just" the award for directing. The film that openly attacks American middle class had extreme effect on young Americans and was among the most popular films of its days. The original concept of the main hero as a successful yet shy student (the first film role of d. Hofman) and the today already well known music of Simon and Garfunkel makes the film an interesting piece even today.
